Monday, June 1, marked the beginning of hurricane season. This hurricane season is expected to be more active than typical seasons. NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) is predicting 13 -19 named storms and 3-6 major hurricanes during the 2020 hurricane season. With tropical depression Cristobal expected to enter the Gulf of Mexico over the weekend, we want to assure you that we are prepared.

We have reviewed and revised our Disaster Recovery Plan prior to hurricane season, including planning for a potential storm while managing COV19 precautions. Our Disaster Response Planning Committee has met and implemented the first stage of our plan. Our team has additional meetings scheduled throughout the weekend to monitor the progress of the storm and escalate to the next level, if that is necessary. Though current indications are that tropical depression Cristobal may diminish in strength, we continue to be vigilant in our monitoring and preparations.
