PS Lightwave has acquired IP Global, a Houston-based provider of colocation, connectivity and voice services. IP Global owns and operates a 12,000 square foot data center located near the Galleria business district in Houston, one of the most densely interconnected cities in the United States.
This transaction adds enterprise-class data center and enhances infrastructure services offerings in the thriving Houston market. Expanded voice service solutions, including Hosted PBX and Trunks, compliment the current range of services offered by PS Lightwave. The ability to offer customized solutions with a dedicated local team of support experts will continue with this partnership.
Founded in 1996 by Joel Bintiff, IP Global is a market leader in the Houston area with a strong regional reputation for customer service and delivering secure and reliable colocation and connectivity solutions. IP Global serves enterprises and SMB customers in the Houston area, with an outstanding list of clients across oil and gas, healthcare, transportation, finance, manufacturing, cloud and technology. IP Global and PS Lightwave have enjoyed a long-standing and successful relationship that began in 2015 with IP Global providing voice services to PS Lightwave customers and PS Lightwave providing high-capacity, fiber-based transport to IP Global customers.
“Acquiring IP Global made perfect business sense and it fits not only within our core business, but also within our target market,” commented Rhonda Cook, CEO and founder of PS Lightwave. “IP Global has built a fantastic customer service reputation in the region as a trusted infrastructure provider. We look forward to combining IP Global’s strength in colocation, connectivity and voice services with PS Lightwave’s fiber-based product offering and dense footprint across Houston and Southeast Texas.”
Ms. Cook continued, “We are especially pleased to acquire such an experienced and creative team, as well as expansion of our business offerings and technical product development capabilities. We look forward to the impact on PS Lightwave’s business growth outlook, as well as enhanced opportunities for our staff members. This transition will be transparent to our customers and we are looking forward to working with and serving the IP Global customer base.”

John Lambert, PS Lightwave’s President said, “IP Global dramatically enhances PS Lightwave’s product portfolio for current and future customers. Not only do they add several new lines of business for our customers, but they also embody the philosophy that our team continually works towards – to ensure our clients get connected and stay connected. PS Lightwave is proud to announce that Joel Bintliff and Jarrod Baumann, owners of IP Global will be joining the PS Lightwave family. We look forward to a very exciting and successful future together. Additionally, I’d like to take the opportunity to announce that Robert Jacobs, a longtime PS Lightwave team member, has been promoted to Data Center Manager.”
Joel Bintiff, former co-owner of IP Global and now PS Lightwave’s new Sr. Business Development Executive noted, “PS Lightwave can now manage all aspects of both server hardware and operating systems. Customers will continue to get remote access to the equipment, load their applications and configure the setup according to their preferences. It was logical for us to roll in together and provide a complete offering for small business, enterprise, municipalities, school districts and the public sector. Since we are local with Houston-based facilities, our customers deal directly with our people in the community who are accountable, not an overseas desk.”
Mike Tanner, PS Lightwave’s Director of Sales said, “The acquisition of IP Global brings several new and exciting dynamics to PS Lightwave’s already beneficial offerings. Extremely competitive Hosted PBX and colocation pricing solutions are worth highlighting as a primary benefit of this acquisition. Companies that are looking for better alternatives to help them lower overall telecommunication costs and/or facilitate remote workers more effectively will find great value in our combined products and services. PS Lightwave provides best in class customer service, flexible Hosted PBX, Mobile Connectivity, SD-WAN, Dark Fiber, Voice services, and a variety of dedicated, not shared, burstable, Fiber solutions that customers should demand and can count on.”
Jarrod Baumann, former co-owner of IP Global and now PS Lightwave’s new Director of Product Development said, “I am passionate about Unified Communications and emerging VoIP technologies and the alignment of our mission enables us to join a team where we can continue using our strengths to grow the company. We are stronger together and I believe we have better solutions for businesses than our competitors.”

“One of the main points I’d like to ensure that IP Global customers understand,” says Baumann, “is that while we were acquired by a larger organization, PS Lightwave is still small enough that we can be more responsive and agile, especially relative to mega telecoms you see in the marketplace. You won’t get lost in some IVR purgatory or be greeted by people who can’t assist you when you need our help the most. An extremely high level of customer service will remain our focus in all of our dealings with you. Plus, you now have access to more products and services than we could previously offer you.”
