Wali Muhammad currently oversees field and internal operations consisting of multiple departments with a focus on improving efficiencies and on-time delivery to customers, while creating a safe work environment. He conducts assessments for Pure Speed Lightwave’s future needs, grows young talent, and holds everyone accountable, in accordance with GRIT and Pure Speed Lightwave’s dedication to growth from within.
Originally from Boston, Mr. Muhammad relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana and attended high school at A. Fortier H.S. Shortly after graduating, he moved to Houston, beginning his career in telecommunications as a lineman and cable installer. He worked for Horizon Communications as a contractor. Mr. Muhammad completed multiple cable and fiber certifications with the National Cable Television Institute.
Mr. Muhammad gained experience working as a fiber optic technician, supervisor, and manager over the last 27 years. Of all his accomplishments, Mr. Muhammad is most proud of being given the opportunity to build a team of qualified technicians and training and mentoring a team of young managers towards creating an open environment where sound decisions are openly discussed and each member helps another grow.
Most telling about Mr. Muhammad, however, is that he stays true to advice offered to him by working hard and staying humble. In his personal time, Mr. Muhammad plays and coaches basketball and football, traveling and reading a good book or two.
