Spotlight: Swen Wulf

Swen developed a new no-cost, open-source tool, Zabbix, primarily used by the NOC which will eventually replace the current, expensive software, Solar Winds. The current version offers real-time switch and device monitoring, graphical insights, and a collaborative platform for issue resolution.  Zabbix has quickly become an indispensable tool improving communication and collaboration in our daily operations of the NOC.  We rely on it daily to triage and record comments during outages, ensuring that any disruptions to our network are handled more swiftly and efficiently.  Other contributors are already adding enhancements with Jesse Chambers, VoIP department, creating visual maps to illustrate network interactions and James Murphy, NOC setting up detailed maps that are valuable resources for troubleshooting more effectively.  See attachment for more details.
