Business Development Executive

Reports To:

Director of Sales

Job Purpose:

The Business Development Executive is responsible for making sure all existing PS Lightwave clients are being taken care of by providing them the best in customer service and sales support. responsible for identifying customer needs, providing upgrades to existing services, contract renewals, and presenting new solutions to our target markets, including Enterprise Businesses, Property Developers, Data Centers and Carrier/Wholesale customers. This position requires a high level of expertise in presenting new product options to a customer’s technical as well as non-technical staff and decision makers. This position may require occasional travel.

Duties and Responsibilities

Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains relationships with potential and existing clients in the technical and scientific wholesale and manufacturing fields.
  • Identifies and locates new clients through a variety of methods including networking and cold calls.
  • Develops and implements strategies for sales in an assigned region or industry.
  • Applies knowledge of the field and product features to match products to the needs of clients.
  • Answers inquiries from clients concerning products, their uses, and the industry at large.
  • Provides information, quotes, credit terms, and other bid specifications to clients.
  • Negotiates prices, terms of sales, and/or service agreements; prepares contracts and submits orders.
  • Periodically prepares and reports results, status of accounts, and leads to manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of account management/direct client services experience (within mid or large market accounts) preferred
  • A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and sales experience
  • Good written/verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with both technical and nontechnical personnel; ability to carefully listen, clarify and respond well to questions
  • Ability to operate and make timely decisions in a fast-paced atmosphere
  • Must be able to quickly sort through complex subject material
  • Strong analytical skill set and ability to effectively use data for sales strategies
  • An eagerness to learn and stay current on industry trends through an interest in new technologies and industry regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Thorough understanding of technical or scientific products to be sold.
  • Organized with high attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license
